OF COOL STUFF
The San Francisco Mint was constructed in 1874 and is one of the few buildings to survive the 1906 earthquake. Located just a coin’s toss from Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco this classical revivalist venue has been renovated without losing its historical grandeur. At 94,000 square feet, maze like corridors, multiple rooms, an outdoor court yard w/ performance stage the Mint promises an unparalleled event experience.
This month we are opening the secret vaults of the San Francisco Mint for more art exhibits, VR, and other activities.
To accommodate the crowd we are also taking over Mint St to double the number of food vendors!
San Francisco's newest cultural district
filipino heritage district
On April 19, 2016 San Francisco's Board of Supervisors unanimously passed legislation zoning out a large area of land in San Francisco's SOMA (South of Market) neighborhood encompassing a wide variety of buildings, parks, and community service groups that have served the Filipino community for decades.
SOMA Pilipinas' goal is to celebrate the cultural contributions of the Filipino community and protect San Francisco's most important asset: cultural diversity.
